Authority earned through roleplay

P.E.R.P.

Power Exchange Role Play makes offices, leadership and responsibility part of the story by allowing positions to be challenged and decided through village roleplay.

Power Exchange Role Play

Authority Is Part of the Story

P.E.R.P. is a defining feature of roleplay in Rorus. It gives ambition, reputation, performance, alliances and village confidence meaningful consequences instead of treating positions as fixed OOC assignments.

01

A Living Structure

Rorus uses P.E.R.P. to keep authority active, contestable and rooted in roleplay. Positions are not permanent OOC appointments protected from in-character change.

02

Open to Challenge

All roleplay jobs and offices are open to challenge. A person holding a position may later be challenged and voted out when the village believes its needs are not being met.

03

Three-Month Cooldown

Once a person takes office, no challenge to that position may be made for three months. This protected period gives the officeholder time to settle into the position, begin managing its duties and demonstrate to the caste whether they have what it takes to lead it.

04

Presenting a Challenge

A challenger presents the challenge before the Administrator or, until one is elected, the Council of High Castes. The proper authority determines whether the challenge proceeds to a vote.

05

Campaigning

When a challenge is accepted for a vote, every involved candidate receives time to campaign and demonstrate why the village should place its confidence in them.

06

The Village Vote

The village votes for the person it believes will perform the role best. The voting system allows leadership and working positions to respond to the roleplay created by the community.

07

IC Politics, OOC Fairness

In-character bribery, bargaining and secret political deals are permitted as roleplay. OOC pressure, harassment, retaliation and vote manipulation are not permitted.

The essential boundary

Political Roleplay Remains Roleplay

Characters may persuade, bargain and scheme. Players may not use OOC pressure or retaliation to control an in-character vote.
